Advantages: instant results
Disadvantages: big manual
The ultimate in camera's must be a digital camera, And the Olympus Camedia C-830L has everything you need to take great photo's, It is missing one thing though, A FILM. Hurrah for that. No more waiting to see if that holiday snap turned out, or the picture of your loved one has there head still on there shoulders. Or just completely blank set of prints. This camera package includes a camera (it would be pretty useless without one) a carry strap (but no case, oh well can't have it all), software CD Rom, PC serial cable, Macintosh connector, video cable (pal), Smart media 8MB card, 4 batteries and an instruction manual. Did I say manual, sorry I meant encyclopaedia. LOL The main features include a high recording mode lens, a removable smart media card, video cable to view photo's on a television or tape to video if you don't have a PC, a 1.8inch LCD monitor to review the photo taken or see what you are about to take, A direct printing mode and a 1,310,000 pixel ccd that delivers high quality pictures. But what does all that mean I hear you cry, It just means it takes great pictures you can see instantly and store them how you like, On your PC, Your TV or print out on paper. You can take up to 122 pictures on the standard SQ recording mode, which are of good quality. Or you could take 36 pictures on HQ, 18 on SHQ or 2 pictures on non compressed SHQ the highest quality mode. The higher the quality the longer it takes to download to a PC, But its still a lot quicker than the postman. Other features include multi flash modes such as red-eye reduction and fill in flash, type of picture like standard or panoramic, normal or telephoto, an index feature to allow you to scan your photo's quickly. A self timer when there is nobody to take the picture for you. Basically everything you need. The software and cable's are easy to set up and install and quite quick. Hey, If I can do it then anyone can. A Phot
o Album programme is provided on a separate CD Rom so you can make up different albums for different occasions and store photo's in groups or types. The album has many functions including a slide show, This shows selected photo's in a selected order. Battery life can be a bit of a pain at times so it is recommended you carry a spare set around just in case so you don't miss that photo opportunity, The more you use the LCD the quicker the batteries run down. All this may seem complicated at the start but you soon pick it up, And it will be worth it as you'll never have to rely on a photo development company again.
