Advantages: simple to use, great quality pics, excellent user manual, great easy to use software
Disadvantages: comes with pencil batteries
I was lucky enough to have won my Camedia in a competition. Okay, the bare facts about the camera: My C 830L came with 2 Smart Media cards 1 x 4mb & 1 x 8mb, carry case, strap, batteries, great user manual, connection leads for hooking up to the PC (serial port), power lead & software. The C 830L uses AA pencil batteries which isn't as good as having a rechargable battery pack, but still does the job all the same. The serial port connection lead isn't as fast as USB but still transfers your pics onto your PC quick enough. There's some great features on the C 830L, which I use all the time, like the abilty to hook your camera up to your tv as well as your PC. You can zoom in on objects, but this takes a while to get used to & takes a while to master the art of zooming. The Camedia software is so simply to use that you'll be a master in a matter of minutes like you will with the camera after using it for a short while. You can see some of the examples of the quality of pics by looking atr some on my homepage as all the pics were taken with the C 830L. Just go to http://www.tomyoung.net & there's plenty of photos for you to look at there. Don't let the pics scare you too much! The timer function is great, allowing you to finally get into those family pics that you've always been on the other end of before! There's too many functions to list, but if the shop has one, just ask for a demonstration & you won't be sorry!
