I would never have thought of spending £400 on a digital camera 2 years ago, which is what the going price for my Olympus 830L was then. It came as part of a computer package from Tiny, and I was doubtful as to the use of this camera. Since learning to use it (Yes, it DOES help to spend half an hour with the instruction manual...!!!), I have hardly used conventional film at all. I store all my snaps on the computer, view them on my 19" screen, which gives a fantastic clarity and quality. It opens such opportunities when it comes to sharing photos with friends and family who live far away. For those without PC facilities, I simply visit one of the many net photo printing companies, who for a small fee will download your picture(s), print it off and send directly to your chosen recipient. Pictures can be deleted straight away to ensure only the best ones makes ot back to the editing desk, and you can show them off there and then in the LCD window at the back of the camera. It's really fun being able to take a snap and seconds later, it is in the Emailbox of my parents in Norway. No more waiting for processing to take place.
