Advantages: Ease of Use, Compact, LCD Screen
Disadvantages: Battery Life
I have been looking to buy a digital camera for quite a while now, trawling through internet sites and catalogues to try and find out what I need and how much I had to spend. Eventually I came to the conclusion that 1.3 Megapixels was enough for me. While in town one day I came across a Dixons sale, and lo and behold, I found the olympus c-920 with P300 printer for just £399!!! Now I realised this is not a new camera, and has now been superceeded by the 960, but so what!!! Half the electronics we buy are out of date in a month!!! Not being the greatest of photographers I sat myself down with the manual and read it from cover to cover (very easy to understand and use). I have now had the camera 2 weeks and I am over the moon with it. The quality of the pictures is outstanding. THe LCD Screen makes composing shots very easy, especially when combined with the 3X optical Zoom. The bundled software is also easy to use and quite versatile. I have two minor grumbles with Olympus. Firstly battery life!!! I have gone through one set of batteries already in only 2 weeks!! I am not sure if this is true for all digital cameras so I cannot complain too much without all the facts, and having used it quite a lot (new toy and all!!!!), but it does seem a little quick! Secondly is the system of switching to viewing mode. It does seem a little fiddly to have to open the front cover to take a picture, and then slide it back to view the finished results and scan through them. I know it flashes up your picture as you take it but even so, something to look at next time Olympus??? All in all a pretty good camera and well worth the bargain price I got it for!
