Olympus extends the popular CAMEDIA C-900ZOOM series with a model that incorporates a 2.1 million pixel CCD, movie recording function and more. Despite this host of improvements and enhancements the stylishly designed C-990ZOOM remains very affordable. Not only the extremely powerful 1/2.7 inch CCD, but also the advanced optics play a decisive role in delivering this model's super high-quality results. The first double megapixel camera in this series features a precision 5.4 - 16.2 mm multivariator 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 35 - 105 mm on a conventional 35 mm camera). Comprised of eight elements in six groups and containing two aspherical lenses, it assures exceedingly sharp zoom photography.

For situations where even more magnification is required, CAMEDIA C-990ZOOM provides an additional 1.6x, 2x or 2.5x digital tele, which can be employed in all quality modes.
