I had this camera about a year and a half ago. I loved it at first- Excellent picture quality and fantastic zoom. The software for this camera is good and very easy to use. The problem I had with it, is that the battery life doesn't last long. I have bought numerous amounts of expensive batteries for it for them only to last about half an hour. This isn't very practical especially as i like to go to a lot of concerts. I don't have the room for pocket fulls of batteries and then to have to change them every 2 minutes. Not tried rechargable batteries to see what they are like - which would probably halt the cost of buying new ones, just not sure what my electricity bill would be. It's annoying. Wish I'd taken it back. Also, once the batteries die the zoom lens stays out so if you don't have new batteries it's quite inconvenient and not easy to put away. It's like it just freezes. I wish it did work because the picture quality IS very good. Everything is, apart from the battery life. I now have to borrow my mum's camera until I can afford to buy a new one. This wouldn't deter me from buying olympus products again.
My sister bought this camera for us for our wedding - it is my first digital camera so I cannot compare it to others, however, I think it is a fantastic little camera. The picture quality is superb, it is very easy to use (especially for a first timer!) and is very simple to connect to my laptop. The screen at the back is very large and very clear (unlike some I've seen). The only down side to it is unless you buy special camera batteries, the usual AA duracel batteries do not last very long at all, especially if you use the zoom a lot or if you want to view the pictures you have taken. But this is not a problem as I buy the more expensive batteries and keep some spare regular batteries in the case with it. It did not come with a case, I bought that separately. Overall I would definately recommend this digital camera.
