This has the ability to withstand anything short of being dropped of the Eiffel tower, but still has a decent picture quality. Still, it is unbelievable that it can take any kind of picture at all whilst 10m deep in freezing water and being crushed is remarkable enough. Can withstand a drop from around 1.5m and unlike other cameras will withstand water sport conditions. This is an amazing camera, I've had mine around 8 weeks now, I'm an avid traveller and the olympus 770 sw just has to be the best camera for travelling as it even goes underwater. The body is shock and waterproof, you can drop it from around 4 feet, stand on it (that's stand NOT stamp !) as it will take around 100 kilos and go diving with it down to 10 meters ! the underwater capabilities are simply awesome, I was out in sharm el sheikh two weeks ago and every day I'd go snorkelling, I spent hours just taking pictures and loading them on my laptop in the evenings.. it's underwater pictures are mind blowing I love it. it's not cheap but ...
