Advantages: Compact, great zoom, weather and shock proof
Disadvantages: None so far
I'm not a fan of gadgets and gizmos, but I love this little camera. It's simple to use and has a great sized viewing screen of what you've just taken. It is weather/rain proof so you can take it anywhere in the British summer and be certain of a decent picture.
Close ups and landscapes are equally good and the camera has an in built guide telling you what setting to use for whatever picture you want, whether that's an action picture, landscape and portrait combined, something you're capturing at night or something behind glass for instance.
There is an anti-shock button, so you can snap while on the move on a bus tour, or when being blown around in a gale. The red eye button helps to keep your little darlings looking like that instead of turning into little devils.
It has an amazing memory without a memory card but buying one means you have even longer between downloads. The calendar facility is very useful as you can see which picture you took on which date, which helps with any filing you do of your photos later, and you don't have to have the date on the photo which sometimes spoils the effect.
I have used my camera everywhere in the last two years, mostly at the top of a hill in the Lake District. It's a hardy little unit having been dropped several times. There is a dedicated strap and case you can buy that fit it perfectly and these help to keep it safe.
It is a small camera but the zoom means that you can take excellent close ups. When reviewing your snaps on screen it has an excellent enlarge facility so you can pin point minor details in the photo.
Great value for money and useful for everyone in the family. A great starter digital camera for a teenager, and good for your granny too who can just point and press. A snapper's delight.
Summary: A stylish camera for a happy snapper
