I was given the pink Olympus 840 as a birthday present, after the death of my other camera. The first thing I noticed was how slim and light the camera is - it's tiny compared to my other one but the zoom lens is fantastic. I tried it out photographing jewellery, as this is my main use for a camera. At first, the pictures I took when zooming in on a bracelet were blurred, when I didn't use a flash it was blurred and when I did it flashed off the metal. In the end, I managed to take a perfect photo by taking a photo not zoomed in and then cropping it on the computer, the resolution is good enough to be able to do this. I've found trouble taking sharp images without using the flash, but I've been really pleased with the menu options, such as available light, which let me take a photo of a snow covered lake at dusk without using the flash. The only problem I've found is the expensive memory card format, which doesn't fit into any computer like other cards. Overall I'm really happy with the picture quality, ease of use and the camera itself. Just hope I don't drop this one....
