The Olympus SP-565 UZ comes as addition to Olympus's line-up of ultra zoom cameras; this model incorporates a 20x, 26-520mm zoom lens, covering everything from wide-angle landscapes to close-up action shots. Features like Dual Image Stabilisation to help keep pictures sharp, 10 megapixel sensor, 2.5 inch LCD screen, macro mode of 1cm, 13.5fps shooting (at 3 megapixels), Advanced Face Detection, ISO 64-6400 and a full range of creative exposure modes (P/A/S/M).
The main attraction for me is the zoom when Olympus introduced the SP-550 UZ it was acclaimed as having the highest zoom rate inbuilt (x 18). This model now has 20 times optical zoom and is the smaller brother of the SP-570 (x 26); pretty impressive and great for thus sporting action shots.
Good sized LCD screen gives a true reflection of what you have framed in the photo you are taking, gives a decent sized image for reviewing photos taken earlier. For a camera packed with such an array of features and functions, it is not too large and can be carried in a coat pocket quite easily. I recommend that you get some the stick on protective films for you LCD screen which prevents the screen from knocks and scrapes. A shape that fits in your grip, even one handed, adds to the overall pleasure of this camera in use.
I commend this camera because of its great zoom, loads of functionality and, not least, its price.
