Previous
---------
This is the first camera that I have ever brought, and I was looking for a Panasonic one, (one from the new Lumix range). I decided on the Lumix F7.

Why this camera?
----------------
I thought I would buy a Panasonic camera, because I have always had a good opinion of Panasonic, and these come with a very good lens (Leica DC).

Specs and review
-----------------
This camera has effective 2.0 Megapixel CCD. Coupled with a very good lens, it is a perfect match.

What is good about these cameras (Lumix) is they run on the Panasonic SD card to store the information. These cards can also be used to store video (which can be done on this camera) and music for in car stereos. This means that the cards can be used over a broad range of products.

The camera has a 1.5" colour screen at the back, and has easy-to-use buttons and menu structure. The camera was easy to set up, and the battery seems to last for ages. The focusing and exposure flash etc can all be done automatically (good for a photography novice like me!) or manually.

The camera comes with a USB lead to connect to your PC (software included) and also a video lead for connection to your television, where the camera can be used to produce a slide show.

The camera comes as-standard with an 8Mb SD card for storing info on. (You can get up to a 512Mb card, with 1Gb on its way - these cards are about the size of a postage stamp!) The 8Mb can take in the region of 60 pictures (low quality) and about 8 (best quality setting) There are three quality settings, 1600*1200, 800*600, 640*480 pixels. For motion images, the quality is set to 320*240 pixels. Trust me, when the best quality pictures are loaded to your computer, you will be amased, I was!

Conclusion
----------
If given the choice of this camera with some others that were cheaper, I would rather pay the extra to get this one. (My camer
a even came with a spare battery).
