 Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 Digital Camera

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1

Description: Model ID DMC-LC1EG-K / Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1EG-K - Digital camera - 5.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 3.2 x - supported memory: MMC, SD / The DMC-LC1 may look, act and feel like a 35mm camera, but it is most definitely digital. Most film-based cameras allow you to manually adjust certain ... more
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1 ... features. That's why Panasonic added manual functionality to the focus and exposure settings on the DMC-LC1. Simply flick the Focus button on the side of the lens to MF (Manual Focus) and you're ready to go. If you need to check the focus, a Manual Focus Assist function enlarges the center part of the image in the viewfinder or LCD monitor by 3x for easy viewing. The Manual Exposure Mode allows you to select the aperture and shutter speed of your choice. You can even see how much your setting differs from the setting the camera considers optimal with the Manual Exposure Assist function.

With the LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens on the DMC-LC1, you can capture subjects in crisp, clear detail while giving shadows and highlights smooth, rich gradation. Featuring 13 lenses in 10 groups, the DMC-LC1's 3.2x optical zoom lens system renders sharp images from edge to edge with high contrast and rich colors. It also offers a focal distance equivalent to a 28mm to 90mm lens on a 35mm camera and boasts a wide-open aperture value of F2.0 at the wide setting and F2.4 at the telephoto setting. The exquisite rendering of this fine lens, heir to Leica Camera AG's prominent optical technology, makes the Lumix DMC-LC1 a tool of rare expressive power.

In some digital cameras, the LSI (which acts as the camera's brain), generates a luminance signal from only the green component of the incoming light. The Venus Engine LSI in the DMC-LC1 generates the signal from the red and blue components as well as the green. This rich information in the luminance signal helps to boost the diagonal resolution, resulting in outstanding images.

The DMC-LC1 has an impressive 5-Effective Megapixel CCD that helps you create clear, beautiful images. It also has a powerful 3.2x optical zoom that can be combined with the 3x digital zoom for up to 9.6x zoom power.

Premium Review Good things come in small packages! (788 words)

camera at the subject you intend to photograph (stationery or moving) then press the shutter button and allow the camera to do the work. Not only will the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 take 8 photos per second but it will also automatically adjust the lighting sensor as it does, making sure every photo taken will be as clear as is possible. The camera will also zoom in and out slightly as it takes these pictures without you even knowing, which gives you a wider range of choice in your final selection of photos. As a serious photographer I use an SLR camera myself but these are very bulky and not always practical for everyday photography such as holiday snaps or family ...

Premium Review Good little Panasonic (322 words)

Rating:

I wanted a smallish camera that would fit in my pocket or my handbag and not take up too much room while still being able to take good photos. This Panasonic Lumix achieves just that, with 7.2 megapixels the photos are clear and detailed. With the anti-shake feature you can take non-blurred photos easily. The camera is sturdy and well made, you can tell this as soon as you take it out of the packaging. The cover for the memory card etc is on a strong hinge and I can t see that breaking off easily unless you are very careless with it. One really good point is that on the right hand side of the camera there is a bit for you to hold so you can take photos using only ...

Premium Review LEICA PANASONIC MARRIAGE SANS A BIT OF SENSE (100 words)
by KCGeorge - written on 14/07/07 (Somewhat useful, 238 readings)
Rating:

It's a beautiful camera. What else could it be with Leica glass! But I wish it had a spot focussing capability. Maybe, with an optical viewfinder and a AAA battery powering, it would have been the finest pocketable camera. Why not universally available AAA batteries instead of unpredictably available proprietary ...
