Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC20E-K ... features that distinguish the Lumix series, such as the exquisite rendering of the Leica lens and the superior shooting performance made possible by Panasonic's digital imaging technologies. With the Lumix LC20, Panasonic has established a new standard in basic digital camera performance. The Leica DC-Vario Elmarit lens featured on the LC20 is named after the Elmarit lens, the most compact member of Leica Camera AG's renowned lens family. A 3x optical zoom, equivalent to a 35 mm-105 mm zoom on a 35 mm camera, provides dynamic photographs of distant objects. It can be used with the 2x digital zoom to provide 6x zooming. At the core of the LC20 is a newly developed 2, 100, 000-pixel, 1/2.7" CCD, used to convert optical information into digital information. The advanced performance of this new CCD is enhanced by the use of a primary color filter, known for its superior color reproducibility. Panasonic's revolutionary Multitask Image Processing has slashed the time required between exposures. With the LC20, you can snap off consecutive full-size images at a lightning-fast five frames per second - ideal for shooting a fast-moving object or trying to catch the perfect expression on a face. The LC20's flash system is more than just an auxiliary light source. This provides fine light control over a wide range, extending all the way down to wide-angle close-ups within 3.9 inches (10 cm) of the object. The LC20 can record up to 20 seconds of moving images, with 320 x 240-pixel resolution. Moving images are recorded in the QuickTime (Motion JPEG) file format and can be played back on a PC with either a Windows or Mac OS operating system and QuickTime installed. The LC20 saves images onto an SD Memory Card. It gives you an easy way to link your LC20 with PCs, printers, TVs, and handheld computers equipped with an SD slot.

This camera is really easy to use, the tiny click wheel on the top moves smoothly and with a reassuring click to each different function and the zoom is smooth and doesn't show any signs of juddering on the screen. The screen on the back is fairly sized and you can see a decent image on it, however once you've taken a picture it ...

camera, and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ1 was the best value. At a lower price compared to some other brands, it is packed with a useful 6 x zoom and OIS to combat hand shakes. The quality of the photos is fine for the price range. It s only the lack of controls that may turn some people off. The flash is good for such a small ...

Premium Review Excellent camera with noise issue (599 words)

I tend to shoot pictures in unusual situations, iike the underground/subway, or at night, and it has served me well- it s pocketable (although not as pocketable as my previous Panasonic FX-7), turns on very fast, and has the range of control options (Auto, Program, Aperture priority, Shutter priority and full manual control) which I want. The OIS (optical Image Stabilisation) works well, and is worth a couple of stops handheld in dark conditions. The exxcellent joystick control gives immediate access to key settings, like ISO speed and file type (JPEG low compression, JPEG high compression, TIFF and RAW- both of the latter a first for a point and shoot- see below), so ...
