Last year I decided that I wanted a new camera, I had no idea what I wanted! I just wanted a new camera with some more mega pixels. So I went into curry's and had a browse through hundreds of cameras which all looked very similar. A nice man who worked there came over and recommended this one too me. It was roughly £70 which I thought was really good. I bought the camera and hoped for the best. I just wanted a camera for family occasions and for days out that I wouldn't mind getting damaged.
I took it home and got it out the box, it looked really nice, the feel of the camera is great. It is so easy to hold and actually feels really expensive! I bought a leather case to keep it in so I would not dent or scratch it! Always nice to keep new items in a good condition for as long as possible. The camera is a brilliant red colour which makes it stand out from the others!
The camera has a quality of 14mega pixels, it takes a beautiful image and even when fully zoomed in, you will not lose any quality in the image. After taking the photo it will appear on the screen on the camera. The screen is very good showing your image clearly.
You need an SD card to use this camera to store your photos, this is handy because you can then take the card out and put it in your laptop, computer or tele to view the images. Its really easy to do and involves no leads or wires! Which is a great plus side to modern cameras.
It takes great photos at night and there are numerous settings you can choose to take photos and they all work well. They are simple to use and get to grips with. It doesn't take long to get used to the camera. There are very good instructions which come in the box and they will guide you through the setting up process.
This camera has an excellent battery life. It lasts over a week when being used occasionally! I took it to Majorca with me for 11 days and only charged it once! I found it very reliable and have had no technical problems yet.
I have taken a few photos in the car when I am a passenger when the car is moving and you can still get it to take a decent photo when on the move. It's focusing skills are brilliant. Also it's auto focus is very good and will make your photos look very professional.
I think this camera punches well above its weight on quality with such a cheap price. It looks fantastic and it's one of my favourite gadgets! I take with me everywhere! It's light weight and fits nicely in my rucksack. I don't even know its there and when I need it I love using it. I hope it lasts a long time and fingers crossed nothing will go wrong with it, I would recommend this to adults and also kids, it's not expensive so kids could use it without you worrying about the, breaking one of your valuable gadgets!
Overall I would say seriously think about this camera if you are looking to buy a new camera. The prices of it have gone down since I bought mine which means this camera is definitely a bargain. Wish it was this cheap before christmas.
Thank you for reading My review, hope it has helped you to get a better idea on this BRILLIANT camera!
I bought this camera for the Edinburgh Festival to just slip it in my pocket and shoot the mood and feel of the festival esp. the street artists, crowd and the surroundings. My budget range was a very modest sub £100 excluding the accessories. I evaluated all the famous brands - Canon, Nikon and Fuji and by chance headed to Jessops to have a look at the ones on top of my evaluated list. There the salesman showed me this beautiful slim piece in jet black and I loved the look and feel of it from the start.
I have taken quite a lot pictures - around 500+ and around 100+ movies and my first impressions is its amazingly good picture quality. The battery is rechargeable Li ion with the charger coming free which means that my running costs on this camera is rather low with no AA batteries to buy. On the downside, I do have to remember to pack the charger if I am going out of station.
It also has many intelligent features - Auto Focus tracking, image stabilizer, flesh tone recognition etc. to make life easier for a point and shoot person.
The best thing is that it has the very good Leica lens - for that perfect picture quality. You though need to buy an SD card since the built in memory can hold 14 pictures at best.
As for the product features, here is a quick, commented run down -Resolution - 14.1 megapixels - you can get upto A3 size print outs with very good resolution though anything above 10 is sufficient for taking non-professional pictures
Optical and digital zoom 4 - and along with a high quality Leica lens and image stabilizer is again good enough to take landscapes as well as distant pictures the video with sound can be also easily played back on the camer the menu and buttons are intuitive and very easy to use - though without a viewfinder it might be a little difficult to view things on LCD screen under blazing sun
Overall, a good compact camera that takes good quality pictures and has features far beyond money could buy for anything that is below £100.
