I bought this camera in August 2011 for around £130. My old camera was getting on a bit at around 5 years old and I was going on a Safari to Kenya so wanted a decent camera to take some good photos.

My main priority was for a good zoom but for a reasonable price. After reading several reviews on different cameras I settled for this one, my budget was around £100 but I thought it would be worth going over budget for this camera, I was right.

The camera itself is very compact and lightweight with a decent sized screen. the controls are easy to use with good sized buttons and an easy to use zoom feature, which is very good and exactly what I wanted. The camera offers users a "scenes" mode which change the way the photos are taken. These scenes include starry sky (taking pictures in the dark), pets (taking pictures of moving animals!), food (self explanatory) ect, there are around 20 scenes in all that you can fiddle around with. This allows you to get the best pictures with various subjects/light levels. In the non- scene modes the camera identifies what you are trying to take a photo of and can adjust itself accordingly to get the best shot

The video mode as also very good, giving very good sound and picture although you cant seem to zoom in and out once you have started recording. Also the playback mode is very good, allowing you to delete or view any photos/videos you have taken.

The camera has a rechargeable battery which lasts a good amount of time between charges, I prefer this as cameras tend to eat AA batteries and you can never find any when you need them ect so a thumbs up for that.

All and all I'd say this is an excellent camera at a really good price, I would definitely recommend it!
