Advantages: Excellent point and shoot camera, quick, small & light, simple to use
Disadvantages: Only 3.6x zoom which may be too little for some
I have owned this camera for about 6 months and it is exactly what I had been looking for.
I considered a entry-level DSLR for a while, but decided I really needed a good quality, compact point and shoot for the majority of my needs.
This camera is ace. The controls are well laid out and very simple to get to grips with. There is an "intelligent auto" feature where the camera will select what it thinks is the most appropriate setting just prior to taking the shot. There are also various scene modes and additional functionality if you want to alter the settings to get a better picture.
In my case, I have use the intelligent auto feature almost all of the time and the pictures have looked great - certainly good enough for my needs. Since the camera is so compact, I can carry it around anywhere I choose in my pocket and take great snaps whenever I like.
Another feature which has proved useful is the fast start up time - there hasn't been a moment yet where I've found I'm waiting for the camera to start up and I'm trying frantically to take a quick shot. The battery is not bad either - it lasted 3 days of varying use recently in the Brecon Beacons with no problem.
A good point and shoot camera well worth considering for general every day use.
Summary: A really good little camera
