for the shutter to be so slow that the animal has moved and the camera captures a totally different image. Battery power so far seems to be great, Panasonic suggests around 310 pictures in between charges and though I haven t counted it definitely lasts a good long while! The menu is well thought out and easy to navigate. The zoom feature is located right next to the shutter button which is great for taking good fast snaps, again brilliant if you are taking pics of anything thats constantly on the move...pets or children I guess! think aslong as you are sensible and switch it off when you are finished and not leave it no you will be more than comfortable with using it for the day. When you get in just re charge it and repeat the process. Overall Overall I was very pleased with the product that Panasonic have released. and so on. The FT1 is perfect for this purpose. Previously I had a Pentax Optio W80 but was disappointed with the image quality so decided to buy the Panasonic instead. PICTURE QUALITY: Excellent for a waterproof compact. Vivid colours, sharp details and good exposure metering. I have been very impressed with most of the pictures I ve taken with this camera. It does suffer from a bit of image noise when taking night shots without the flash, but this is not too much of a downside for me as I use my DSLR for night shots. RELIABILITY: Excellent.
