Advantages: Large shooting range and excellent picture quality

Disadvantages: Does not shoot in RAW

I purchased this camera prior to a going on safari. The large lens capability, ranging from 28mm (great for scenic shots) up to an incredible 280mm is fantastic. The image stability at high zoom is very good and matches that of DSLR's. There are numerous shooting options, such as scenic, portait and night - even one for fireworks.
Most importantly the image quality was impressive. I took numerous shots of animals in motion using the zoom on maximum and the pictures were in focus and the colour, contrast and brightness did not need tweaking! The various shooting options are easily accesible by a rotating wheel on the top of the camera and the remaining options, including the camera set up are via the large viewing window. There is also a slide show option to view your photos to music.
Tha battery life is adequate and lasts a day of constant shooting and viewing of the pictures. I usually shoot using a DSLR and purchased this to compliment the lens I was currently using. Although it shoots in JPEG as oposed to RAW the pictures need very little if any modifications.
All in all, I am very pleased with this camera and would recomend it.
