The best point and shoot camera on the market (Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5)
Member Name: mrjoegoodwin
Advantages: 10x digital zoom, amazing picture quality, crystal clear LCD display Disadvantages: Default camera set up doesn't provide the best settings for high quality photos As a previous owner of a digital Panasonic camera (the bulkier but also excellent FZ3), upgrading to the TZ5 seemed like an attractive option. The 10x optical zoom was a slight drop from the 12x zoom offered with the FZ3, but the difference to the naked eye is minimal. Fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand, with a sturdy hand grip to minimise camera shake, the TZ5 feels robust enough for the more serious photographer, yet small enough to fit in your pocket for taking shots on the move. The crystal clear and surprisingly large LCD screen offers an amazing image preview quality, and is probably the feature that drew the most admiring glances from family members and friends. The optical image stabilisation also helps reduce camera shake, particularly on those zoomed-in shots, and the picture quality is top notch. I'm so happy with this camera, that I intend to stick with the Lumix range and upgrade to the new TZ7 model in the near future. Summary: Although a relatively new entrant to the market, Panasonic Lumix cameras are here to stay
