This retro looking rock-of-a-camera would surprise you! I just bought a Pentax k-1000. It is a solid rock. You could take out a hammer and start banging on it and it would work fine. Besides the fact that it is the safest camera in the world, it has great features. It lets you decide how much light you want in your pictures, it has a seperate flash compartment, many zoom features, and great film protection. This may be an old camera, but I would hold it against ANY camera today. So it may not have the extra zoom features so you can see a fly pick it's nose from 1000 feet away, but it has good zoom. This camera is great for black and white photography. It's light features can let you take a night photo and it will turn out great. The camera lets you choose how much light you want in, and how much light you want out. The flash compartment is a little difficult to get on, but it's a great improvement on the 'finer' cameras of today.
