The Pentax Optio 450 is a gorgeous little (well fairly little) camera. It's quite small and silver but it is also quite bulky!! It's practically identical to the Pentax Optio 550 but the 450 uses a 4 megapixel (i'm not entirely sure what megapixels are) ccd while the 550 uses a 5 megapixel ccd. The camera has a 5X zoom but when the zoom is used you can be sacrificing picture quality, and is supposedly very sturdy not that i won't be holding on to mine very tight at the amount it costs!! It weighs about 200-250 grams when it is ready to use. It gives out good quality images and you can change the resolution so the pictures take less time to load up when inserting them into an email. The quality of the prints are also good unlike some cameras which seem to take pictures really well but when you try to print them they come out all blurry. The camera has all the usual gadgets on a digicam including being able to make small movies allthough i have never actually done this so i can't tell you how well it works. But the movies last about 10 mins and have sound!! unlike most cameras. Obviously filming time varies depending on how much space you have on your card. There are loads of features on it (far too many to explain) But this makes it quite difficult to use and quite annoying at times. If you want a technical camera with loads of features and options for technical photography this is the camera for you but if you just want a digicam to take on holiday or use occasionally i recommend you get a cheaper and easier to use one. Price is about £250 prices from shop to shop will vary. 4 stars
