Advantages: Size, Quality, Performance, Looks.
Disadvantages: Very Few.
I have owned the Pentax Optio 750z for about two years now and, being my first digital camera, it has certainly lived up to all my expectations.
My choice was based on three main factors: 1)Price 2)Looks and 3)Technical Ability.
I had quite a bit of money to spend (£400-£500 approx) and compared all available in this price range.
For me, the look of this camera was exactly what I was looking for; Retro, compact and un-assuming. Perfect!
This Camera does everything a 35mm SLR camera does, and much, much more besides............
Automatic, manual, the picture mode is great for beginners or if you are in a hurry! It has audio, video, 3D, panoramic, filters, close-up, macro, flash, spot focus, presets, self-timer, time-lapse, red-eye, double exposure - the list goes on and on!
The lens is great quality and has a 5x optical zoom. The1.8-inch swiviling LCD screen is perhaps a bit small compared to some others, but useful on occasion.
7.0 Megapixels is certainly big enough for any uses, creating huge files at top resolution.
No discernable lag at shutter release, but takes a while to transfer to memory on high resolutions.
Simple to transfer files to PC with USB lead, you also can view pictures on TV with special lead (although only in B&W).
You'll need to factor in the price of extra battery and get a bigger memory card.
Overall a very good camera, and I'd recommend it to anybody.
