The camera has many extra features, one of the ones I find amazing is the smile detection. The camera will automatically detect people's faces (you can see a yellow box round them on the screen) and if you have it in smile mode it will then automatically take the picture when it sees them smile. This is a very cool and nifty feature, e...more

Premium Review Pentax Optio L40: This Pentax is Brilliant (255 words)
by - written on 06/06/09 (Very useful, 23 readings)
Rating:

The Pentax Optio L40 is a really amazing camera with great features, especially for it's size. Even compared to my very large cannon, it takes great quality pictures. The 8Mp camera is top quality, even though it isn't a huge number it still takes very good quality pictures. The camera is very light and easy to hold and handle. It takes SD cards so you can easily transfer pictures to your computer if it has a card reader, or by USB cable if it doesn't. The battery life is very reasonable and it does not take a long time to fully charge with the included battery charger. Premium Review A great easy-to-use camera with plenty of features! (245 words)

Rating:

The Pentax Optio L40 at a first glance is slim (only 18mm) and stylish with a sleek silver finish. The camera is unbelieveably easy to use, once purcased and charged all it takes is the press of one button to take a clear impressive photograph! A great feature included is the way that you can choose to have a personal photo greet you when you turn it on, making you smile everytime you pick it up! The 2 inch colour screen is a good size that allows you to view your photgraphs without the need to squint, it also displays a huge range of vibrant colours that allow you to really capture your surroundings. Features wise, the camera allows you to capture film and sound as well ...  Read the complete review

My sister got me this camera as a Christmas present and I haven't looked at another camera since. It's small and light, I picked up a case for it to protect the screen for under £5 and it fits nicely in my hand bag. I never go anywhere without it. Positive points include size and weight, not to mention the superb picture quality at 8 mega pixels. The other day I went to a concert where I was taking pictures in the dark (of a lit stage) without the use of a tripod and most of them came out great! I've also made good use of the movie function and now have 3 memory cards for it (standard SD which makes it compatible with self-service print kiosks and laptops etc). Battery ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Easy clever little camera (180 words)

Rating:

I had been looking for a digital camera for a long time and after time spent searching i chose this one. The camera is really good and easy to use. The zoom is easy and simple. However I think that the camera mat benefit from having a slightly larger screen. I also think that some of the buttons were quite small and it makes it quite difficult to navigate through some of the menus. I also found that the setup was easy to do and the instructions were very clear but most of the instruction book semmed to be in a different language! there were also somused the useful accessories with the camera such as a wrist strap which is useful in helping to keep the camera close. ...  Read the complete review
