I received this digital camera as a Christmas present from my mum and I think it is great. Once I had finished opening the rest of my presents I immediately got my camera out to charge the battery and get it set up. To charge you need to remove the battery from the camera and place it into the charger, where it only takes about half an hour to fully charge and it then remains charged for hours even days dependant on how often it is used. I tend to not read any manuals and instructions which come with things so I just figure everything out as I go along so sometimes setting things up can be quite complicated but this was very easy and only took a few minutes to do and upon doing this I started clicking away taking loads of photos.
The camera is 12 mega pixels and has face recognition of up to 32 faces in the one picture. In previous cameras I have found that when you zoom in to take a picture it can be very blurry but this camera which has 4x optical zoom is great and almost always stays in focus. When turned on it is in auto picture mode which is for general picture taking but this can easily be changed by pressing the mode button and then choosing from between 24 different styles to suit the type of picture you are going to be taking. The modes I tend to use the most are auto picture, kids as this is great for capturing my son running about and movie mode for taking short videos and capturing all the important parts of my son growing up. There are 9 buttons on the back of the camera which may sound like a lot but 4 of these are in a circle and when pressed left this opens your flash menu where you have a choice of between 6 styles of flash (I normally keep it at auto). The bottom button is to change the mode, right is to alter the focus and top is the drive mode where you can set a self timer. When reviewing pictures if you press the mode button this brings up options to change the picture such as resize, crop and red-eye. One of my particular favourites is frame composite which is for inserting a frame around a picture and the are plenty of choices to pick between 90 to be precise so you are spoilt for choice!
The camera itself is very light and compact so can fit into your pocket or bag no bother. The material of the camera is aluminium and all silver. The standard memory is 34mb but can support a SD or SDHC memory card, I have currently got a 2gd SD card inserted into mine. The digital screen is a 2.7inch TFT full colour display. Cable connections are provided which allow you to upload pictures to your pc or laptop and once this function is set up it is quick to use. I would highly recommend this product to anyway who would like to purchase a easy to use, good quality camera. My 3year old son has now even learned how to turn the camera on and take pictures, all of which are always in focus! The camera is very robust as it has been dropped plenty of times especially by my son and it still works perfectly and only has a few small scratches on it.
