Menus are easy to navigate through and battery life is reasonoble, I would reccomend buying a couple of extra batteries from ebay for longer trips (I did this and found they had longer life than the battery provided with the camera). I have owned this entry level camera for over a year. It has performed incredibly well and I've had no problems. Picture quality is a generally good (7 megapixels), there are a large number of different shooting modes underwater, landscape etc. I have put the camera through a lot of punishment taking it whitewater kayaking and it seems to be shockproof to a certain degree.
