Pentax Optio W60. I bought mine earlier this year as my last digi camera fell foul of my hobbies. I looked long and hard for a camera that was compact, took good pics and most importantly did so under the more extreme conditions. I was recomended this by a sales man in a local specialist shop and after a little bit of shopping round bought it with a 2G SD card.
Enough intro lets talk the talk! I like it, it does take good pics and it has withstood what I normally put cameras through. I've dropped it, bashed it whilst climbing, soaked it when walking and even had it buried in snow and it still takes good pics. Battery life is good too, easily enough to fill the card. I find the options a little too much though. Being a simple man and usually too busy to faff about with the options I either leave it on Auto or on Landscape. I have used it to take movies though with very good results esp using the zoom. It does take good snow shots though again I find it fiddley to change settings whilst wearing winter gloves. Does any camera need seperate settings for "moving kids" or "capturing pets" though?? I have found it can be a little slow in taking pics esp when movement is involved and the funky beeping noise when you turn it on soon loses its initial charm. The shutter on the front never closes though, not sure if thats just mine or if there is no shutter? It still works under water though I've not been lucky enough to take it diving.
Its been up climbs in yorks and wales, snow gullies in the lakes, zorbing and even survived the pub! So yes I'd recomend one for anyone wanting a tough little thing for surviving life's little trials.
