Pentax Optio M40 ... similar so you can start using it pretty quickly). It s got a good zoom feature and more flash controls than I m used to - although the difference between flash and soft flash escapes me. But the flash is good enough either way. Connecting to my pc and uploading the photos is easy as well, but I use Windows autoplay and gallery to upload and view the photos - I didn t like the software from Pentax, as that side of things was a bit too different from Canon. If this is going to be your first digital camera, then the software Pentax supply should be fine for you. As for appearance, it s lightweight and thin, and the screen on the back is lovely and big. Pentax Optio W10 ... I still technically have this camera, it no longer works after I used it in water after a big fall. Before that point, I alsolutely loved this camera, as it had fantastic features and brilliant picture quality. The best bit was the waterproof-ness - on holiday, it took perfect, clear pictures of my partner scuba diving, fish, sea anenmoes etc. Even just stuck in a rock pool and pointed in the right direction it gives good pictures! The features are fantastic too, the menu options for close up, landscape, fireworks, snow etc help give really good picture quality. Pentax Optio S40 ... have had this camera for around 3 years now so i think the time has come to write down what i think about it! By todays standards, the specifications are not that amazing. But high definition on television is a little under 2 megapixel so why do you need more? The camera is compact and very sturdy. I have taken the camera all over the world! Safaries, the beech, theme parks. I have never had a problem with it breaking down and it looks in fantastic condition to this very day.
