Ricoh’s 28mm wide-angle zoom lens can capture larger areas than the 35mm lenses of conventional digital cameras. When there is limited space to maneuver, you can more easily capture an entire building or construction site with Caplio 500G wide. The compact Caplio 500G wide is much tougher than most other digital cameras. Durably built with reinforced glass shielding over the lens and strategically placed body protectors, it can withstand drops from heights of up to one meter. JIS protection grade 7 allows shooting in the rain or underwater to a depth of one meter, and JIS protection grade 6 prevents small particles from entering the body at dusty construction sites. You can even shoot at temperatures as low as -10 centigrade. The large LCD screen features an anti-reflection coating for clearer viewing in daylight outdoors. You can easily adjust screen brightness to optimize image clarity. There is also an optical viewfinder, so you can use whichever is right for the situation, for more reliable photography. Many hours of dependable shooting are yours with the high-capacity lithium-ion rechargeable battery. If it runs out of power, simply pop in widely available AA batteries. An AC adapter (option) is also provided for use when AC power is available. Caplio 500G wide effectively reduces camera shake blur by combining high ISO settings with fast shutter speeds. Now you can shoot with greater confidence in dark situation. The built-in flash unit allows clearer shooting in a wider range of situations. Its powerful illumination extends 10 meters in wide-angle shots and 6.5 meters in telephoto shots. Transferring large-volume image data from the camera to your PC is fast and easy with the provided USB cable. Enjoy single-action transfers, once bundled software is installed in your PC, or use Mass Storage Mode. Capture subjects as close as 1cm away in the macro wide-angle mode or 10cm away in the tele-macro mode. The built-in flash unit illuminates subjects as close as 20cm from the camera. All buttons and dials are large enough to ensure you can easily operate the camera even when wearing gloves. This mode transforms trapezoids into rectangles. For example, a signboard shot at an angle can be corrected to appear as if shot directly from the front, for easier reading. The two-point neck strap lets you carry Caplio 500G wide securely around your neck for easy shooting when desired and less bouncing around. |

Ricoh Caplio G4
by Choccie1 - written on 02/02/05 (Useful, 209 readings)
Rating:
Firstly, I must Point out that I am not technically minded whatsoever, in fact, the only figures I know about the Ricoh Caplio G4 are that it is 3.2 mega pixels and is has a shutter speed of 0.14 seconds (which, if I’m honest, I don’t really know what that means, just that it is really fast!!). So if you are looking for clarification on the technical side of the camera this review is not for you, on the other hand it shows how easy the camera is to use if I can use it. The reason I decided on this camera is because its main feature (according to the manufacturer) is that you can take photos really quickly and thankfully this has turned out to be true. I can take photos ...
Ricoh Caplio G4
by clyjem - written on 03/05/08 (Useful, 31 readings)
Rating:
I bought the Ricoh G4 Wide model over the G4 (this model was launched in the late 2003). Main difference is the G4 Wide s focal length is 28 to 85mm while the G4 is 35 to 105mm. I prefer a wider angle to start with. The G4 models are considered very bulky by currents standards but the design of the grip is still comfortable for one hand operation. Many people have problem looking for the power button as it is overshadowed by the mode dial. Startup is a bit slow when you have the Flash mode on as the flash charges up, typical wait it around 4-5 seconds. However, the flash is quite weak for indoor shots. Close up up to 1 cm is a selling point for this camera. One feature ...
Ricoh Caplio G3
by thanatoszane - written on 17/12/04 (Very useful, 220 readings)
Rating:
I decided to take the Nikon 3200 that I reviewed yesterday back to Jessops, and exchange it for the Ricoh Caplio G3, which is an equivalent digital camera by a manufacturer that I trust, even if they don t have as good a reputation ias Nixon. I have used the Ricoh RDC-2 for a long time, and it is a great camera. I will probably continue to use the RDC-2 alongside this G3 because they re both good for different things. The G3 is higher resolution, but the RDC-2 is more forgiving. Anyway, enough waffle - the Ricoh Caplio G3 is a much better camera than the Nikon 3200 in almost all respects in my opinion. ======SPECS===== This is a 3.2 megapixel camera, with 8MB ...
