Advantages: Very easy to use, Fast shutter time, Long battery life

Disadvantages: Can't think of any!, Can't think of any!, Can't think of any!

Firstly, I must Point out that I am not technically minded whatsoever, in fact, the only figures I know about the Ricoh Caplio G4 are that it is 3.2 mega pixels and is has a shutter speed of 0.14 seconds (which, if I’m honest, I don’t really know what that means, just that it is really fast!!). So if you are looking for clarification on the technical side of the camera this review is not for you, on the other hand it shows how easy the camera is to use if I can use it.

The reason I decided on this camera is because its main feature (according to the manufacturer) is that you can take photos really quickly and thankfully this has turned out to be true. I can take photos within seconds of turning the camera on (just the simple push of a button) and it only takes a few seconds between shots. This is a fantastic feature when you are as obsessive as taking photos of your kids as I am, I have missed out on so many good shots with other cameras but since owning this, I hardly miss a thing – its great!!

Another thing I like about the camera is that it seems to have a long battery life, with other cameras I have owned I seemed to be changing the batteries all the time (probably because of waiting for ages to be able to get the shot I want) but with the Caplio G4 I only change them now and again.

Overall I think this is an excellent camera. It takes really good photos, is easy to use, looks good and I have got lots of lovely photos of my children thanks to it! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of purchasing it as I can’t think of any negative points.

"Shutter speed" and "shutter response time", are two different things - and you have them mixed up! The "shutter speed" determines how long the sensor (in digital), or film (in traditional photography) is exposed to light. ie, a speed of 1/125s will expose the sensor for 1/125th of a second. Shutter response time is the measurement of time between "pressing the button" and the shot being recorded. Hope this makes sense!
