Shutter release time lag is approximately 0.09 seconds (without focus lock engaged) and approximately 0.007 seconds from focus lock (which is engaged when the shutter button is pressed halfway down). Enhanced continuous shooting mode delivers 2.8 shots per second, and you can keep shooting high-quality images until the memory is full. Another new feature: Images can be displayed on the LCD monitor while the camera is taking pictures. You will be amazed at the Caplio R5's ease of handling. The CCD shift Vibration Correction function dramatically cuts the effects of camera shake, especially when shooting in zoom or macro. The camera's ideal compact dimensions are possible thanks to Ricoh's original Double Retracting LENS System, which fits the powerful lens inside a slim compact body. The Caplio R52s new image-processing engine, Smooth Imaging Engine II, delivers remarkably low noise images even under low light and when using high-sensitivity settings like ISO800 or ISO1600. Caplio continues to mark the higher evolution of image quality. The 2.5-inch 230,000 pixel LCD monitor offers high resolution, good visibility from wide angles and high luminance that shows images clearly even under bright lighting. Along with a metal body, the Caplio R5 offers greater precision in autofocus, automatic exposure and AWB. The camera's video capabilities have also been greatly enhanced. Battery live is good & can take up to 300 shots before noticing a missing notch in the battery level indicator. I took it on tour to Europe and got many great outdoor pictures.
