Like everyone wanting to buy a digital camera for the first time, I didn`t know what you get for your money. You could read every magazine available and still not know what to buy.
The basic rule of thumb is, the more megapixels-the better quality the photo.
I opted for the Ricoh-rdc6000 and it was priced in PC world at £299.95 but I got it for £250.00 as it didn`t have the AV cable that plugs into your TV. This didn`t bother me as I want it for taking general photos and saving to disc or sending photos for e-mail ect
It is very simple to use and you can take a picture and have it on your PC in a minute.
It also has a rechargable Lithium ion battery so you dont have to keep buying batteries or have the added expense of buying rechargables that you would have to do with other cameras in this price bracket.
It came with an 8mb memory card but I uprated to a 16mb and when the camera is used on it`s factory setting you get 32 photos that are (in my opinion)very good quality. I have printed these photos on photographic paper and was very pleased with the results.
This camera can produce 2.1megapixels compared with others in the price bracket and above at 1.8megapixels so that was another plus point for me.
It also comes with some clever software on CD where you can put a picture of somebodys head onto one of the many templates and amaze your friends.
A easy camera to use and i am very pleased with all aspects of it..
