Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: Eats batteries
I purchased one about 8 months ago, originally for taking pictures to insert in my auctions on ebay. I didn't really want to spend over £200 as I'm a bit of a cheapskate to be honest. Anyway the camera itself cost £199.99 from Comet plus I decided to go for the 5 year guarantee which was an extra £50. A bit more expensive than I had planned but at the end of the day I could have dropped it,broken it or something like that and I would be able to get a replacement no problem. Its fairly easy to use although obviously you would be advised to read the manual a couple of times before attempting to operate the camera just to be on the safe side.(Unless of course you have a guarentee against breakage, lol) The camera itself has 2.0 mega pixels,a 6 x zoom, and a 1.6" TFT LCD viewfinder. This makes for very good picture quality indeed. With the camera you get an 8mb flash memory card.(The storage device used for storing photos, which in lamens terms, replaces the the need for film that you use in an ordinary camera.) This amount of memory allows you to take up to 90 pictures depending on what image size you use. You can look at your photos on your PC/Mac using the software applications supplied with the camera,or indeed you can rig it up to your television, which is very handy indeed. You also have the ability to record up to 30 seconds of video footage,as well as sound with your pictures. The power supply is 4 x AA batteries which are also supplied, however I would recommend purchasing a couple of sets of rechargable batteries and a recharge unit,as the camera really does use the power up quite quickly. It comes with a handy case for keeping it safe when you are out and about as well. All in all its a decent piece of equipment, although I don't doubt there are better cameras on the market,it really just depends on how much money you want to spend.
