Just after Christmas we decided to get a digital camera ( in the January sales, late Christmas present from family) something we have been after for years. So It had to be a good one.

Video with sound.
Fairly powerful zoom.
Large picture taking capacity.
Internal memory plus memory cards that can inserted ( If needed).That sort of thing! And most all of the price.

After one hour or so trawling through various websites, We finally settled on the Samsung Digimax A4. Great little camera. Quite light and compact. From Argos.

It has a 2 inch screen compared to most that are between 1.5-1.8 inch screens. Makes seeing the subjects a lot easier. Tripod can attached to bottom of camera.(table top tripod).

Power saving switch off function. Low power consumption,
Flash with Redeye function. Usual refinements.
Auto picture taking function for those pictures when no one wants to be left out.

VIDEO RECORDING
Recording video could not be simpler. Select the operation required (selector switch on top of camera) and press and hold shutter button down. Release button when you want to stop recording. Simple as that. To take more video repeat operation. If more than normal, a reasonably large memory card Is needed.

Has external speaker (on top of camera) to hear the audio during video playback. Built In microphone can also be used for taking messages. Messages can recorded over Pictures that have just been taken for future reference.

Recommend that you purchase Large storage memory cards If want to take lots pictures/video at an instant. You can go a long way to beat It for convenience. Obviously If It's videoing you like doing then a video camera Is a must. But this Is good for those quick point and shoot moments.

Standard built In internal memory capacity for photographs (Low resolution) 106 pictures. The higher the resolution the less pictures you can take. But better quality.

Summary: Very good all round Camera.
