Advantages: Ease of use, quality is just unbeatable quality for money,
Disadvantages: Design not the sleekest and its also quite bulky
I was bought this camera as a Christmas present three years ago; I was overjoyed when I unravelled the wrapping paper that winter afternoon and seen my new electronic toy. Away I went all afternoon recording joyous moments in time.
The camera has been to Turkey, Italy, France Spain, Thailand and around parts of the UK. I have taken over 3000 photos (just done a count on my photo folder) and around 98% are crystal clear. Sheer quality, in any weather, or time of day.
I sing this camera’s praise’s, photography has been made simple by the incorporation of a rotating dial for preset functions such as video, sound recording, night mode, automatic shutter, focus and flash. The manual was very in-depth and had a variety of hints and tips that enhanced my photography skills things like adjusting the shutter speeds, using slow flash for manual night time shots and using macro focus.
There is a screw point for use of a Tripod, a leather carry case top keep it in good condition and optionally a remote control for group photos you wish to be included in. If you do not wish to purchase the optional remote, there is always the self timer option.
The camera incorporates optical zoom 3x and digital 4x. The digital zoom is great up to about 90%, a point when it becomes very pixelated. It also has an LCD screen that detaches so that it can be swung to different angles. The screen also allows you to preview your shot and or see the picture you’ve just taken. The picture quality here too is very clear.
It normally comes with a 512mb SD card enough for about 200 quality photographs. It also has a 32mb internal memory, although I never use it. However it can take MMC cards as well. Samsung include a USB cable for downloading photos to computer hard drive along with software (Arcsoft Photo Impression and Digimax Viewer.) Also included is another cable for connecting to your TV.
For all the photograhers this is no SLR professional/semi professional, however for an amateur, or average user/the kids this is a great bargin. Current the average price is around £70-£90.
