Samsung Digimax L80 ... images with rich, natural color tones. You can take top-quality, detailed photos with a 30x total zoom (3x optical plus 10x digital) and there's enough resolution to print to poster size.

The Digimax L80 has an auto sensitivity feature that automatically adjusts sensitivity according to the ambient exposure conditions up to ISO 800. The high sensitivity setting of ISO 800 enables the user to take clear indoor pictures in the dark without camera shake and the resulting image blurring.

The high-speed continuous shooting function makes it possible to take 30 high-resolution images of one sequence. Analyze your golf swing, photograph a race car passing by, or study other sequences of motion.

The powerful video capability of the Digimax L80 delivers a "camcorder like" experience. For a more enhanced movie shooting experience, the Digimax L80 uses MPEG-4, the high-compression high-quality video format, which can record for up to 3-4 times longer than the traditional video formats used in many other digital cameras. With powerful video recording in VGA (640X480) at 30fps, it provides a wider screen view and clearer video quality. Furthermore, through the video capabilities featured in the Digimax L80, including Movie Stabilizer, Pause during Movie recording and built-in Editing function, any moment can be reproduced as your own movie.

The Digimax L80 print button makes direct printing easier than ever. Simply connect the Digimax L80 to any PictBridge compatible photo printer, press the illuminated print button and print!

I was not prepared to lash out a few hundred quid on something I had little knowledge of so investing in what I consider to be a mid-price camera the Samsung L700. Why did I choose Samsung? Well its simple really I bought a great TV, which is just fantastic, I have a Samsung mobile (as well as another), which again is amazing. Then last year I stumbled on a Samsung DVD recorder, the only one I have ever encountered that doesn t get sensitive when you use discs time and time again. The Samsung Digimax A7 is quite a cosmetic digital camera that although has the basics of a very good camera has added extras such as flashing lights and sounds that just use up more battery life than serve any real purpose. It does make it a little flashier but they don’t particularly serve any purpose. I bought it as an upgrade from a very cheap AGFA camera which was extremely temperamental so at least I knew I’d be happy with a Samsung. This one was £139.99 (excl. VAT) (price gone down a lot now) from Amazon.co.uk (£14 cheaper than Argos) which isn’t really that cheap for a camera.
