The Samsung Digimax S500 is a digital camera that was released a couple of years ago. It had not crossed my mind to write a review about it until I recently used it on holiday.
The Samsung Digimax S500 is a 5.1 Mpixel camera supported by a 3 times optical zoom (the only zoom that matters). The one I have is the blue and silver one as I brought it abroad but here in the UK the silver one as seen in the photograpg is the more popular one.
The camera fits well into your hand and is quite simple to use. It has a manual setting for those with a bit more experience but I keep it on automatic as it seems to take decent pictures all the time. The battery life is about 2-3 hours which basically means I have to charge the them at least every other day-- this gets a little annoying but from what I understand does not differ much with the newer camera's.
On the reverse of the Samsung Digimax S500 there is a 2 inch screen which also you to play back and view your pictures. The display is clear, crisp and uploads quickly; making viewing easy and simple.
The one flaw about the Samsung Digimax S500 is the lentgh of time between pressing the button down and the actual flash. sometimes up to a couple of seconds.
The camera is a great second hand buy and can be found for £20-30 on ebay etc :D
Happy bidding!!

- 24/06/09 I agree they are great little cameras. Tesco sometimes do special offers on cameras, that is where I got mine - on special offer - of course. |
