Advantages: compact, beauty shot feature, battery life

Disadvantages: image stabilisation doesnt work, quite complicated menus

I picked this camera up in the sale last Christmas - I actually have the ES75 with same specs but 14.2 megapixels. For the price I paid I was extremely impressed.

It is very compact and easily fits in your pocket (5.5cm * 9.5cm * 2.5cm approx). The lense goes completely into the camera when switched off.

The features,

- it has a good 5x optical zoom, therefore photo quality doesnt deteriorate while zooming. There are probably cameras with bigger zooms but as this is very compact you cannot expect much more.

With the 14 mega pixels you get a very clear picture.

The screen is large and very clear (4 * 5.5 cm).

The flash is good for dark inside shots. I have taken numerous photos at my other halfs gigs in dark venues, which have come out really well, you just have to make sure you have the correct settings.

The menus took a bit of getting used to, there are quite a few options.

It has a brilliant option of the "beauty shot", which when it recognises your face, it will make you look blemish free, and believe me it works! It does take a few seconds extra to process the photo in this mode.

The battery life is great, we recently had a little girl and have taken hundreds of photos and have only had to charge up probably twice in 3 months.

The only issue we have had with this camera is image stabilisation, which I cannot seem to get to work. When it is switched on all the photos come out fuzzy.

On the whole we really like this camera, especially for the price we paid.

Summary: A good budget camera with a few nifty features
