I've owned this camera for over a year now and it's so effective that I see no reason to move upto an SLR. In fact apart from the fact that the lens is fixed it is an SLR. It contains all the usual shooting modes as well as full manuel controls. It also shoots in JPG, TIFF and the professional RAW format. It is a bulky beast but then so too are the SLR's that it is emulating - for a bridge camera it sure looks, feels and works like an SLR.
