Quality Point and Shoot, Samsung Haven't Cut Corners Here! (Samsung L310W)

Advantages: Very good quality images, very speedy start-up and default shutter speed.

Disadvantages: I wouldn't have picked the red one!

My girlfriend just received this digital camera for her birthday from her Madré, and shamefully I don't think I've seen her that excited in a good while! She absolutely loved it before the camera was even out of the box, impatient to see the red case.

Cue hour upon hour of everyone on guard, waiting to be sneakily snapped and paraded on Facebook. She loves this camera, possibly more than poor old me!

The exterior is perfection - a huge screen on the back, and quite honestly a quality build. The camera switches on instantly, no waiting around for years staring at the manufacturer's logo. The lens shoots out quicker than anything I've ever seen (tongue in cheek).

The quality of the images are incredible, almost putting my D50 to shame. Though the usual limits seem to apply as with all Point and Shoots, like no manual focus, she doesn't care as long as the shot of her friends is quality. No need for creative Depth Of Field tricks.

It's currently half price in Argos (£99), so I assume that's where this one was born. If you're in the market for an impressive Point and Shoot, and don't want the options and flexibility of a dSLR, I can't see where you can go wrong here!
