Advantages: Small size, photo help guide, 13.6 megapixels.

Disadvantages: Buttons difficult to use to begin with, due to lack of explaination in manual.

This camera is fairly small and is great for a starting photographer, or just for somebody who likes taking pictures. The camera is 13.6 megapixels and has either 6 or 5x zoom, depending on the model you purchase. There is a slot for a tripod at the bottom, and it is compatible with SDHC cards - mine has 4GB of space. The actual camera memory is only 6 photos, so an SDHC is essential.

The controls are difficult to get used to for a first-time buyer, but after a while they become simple to navigate. There are many different settings for the camera on the main wheel. These are: manual, program, auto, movie, scene, beauty shot, dual IS, and there is also a 'photo help guide' included. This is reasonably limited but very useful for tips on brightness, colours etc.

The shutter speed can vary from 1/1500 to 8 secons, but this can only be changed on manual mode. Otherwise, the norm is 1 second.
