High picture quality is obtained by employing an 8.1 mega pixel 1/2.5" high resolution CCD sensor. Clear picture quality can be achieved even for images larger than A2. A robust mounted image processor allows for rich gradation, fast and high quality picture processing.

The newly designed 3x optical zoom (37-111 mm at 35 mm) supports rich expression of pictures. World's top class Schneider lens completely prevents all chromatic aberration and distortion that occur with lens. The specially designed combination of a non-spherical lens and a low dispersion lens allows for rich expression of high resolution images.

With lens-shift method Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), hand shakes are completely controlled without image degradation in poor light conditions. Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) that is fully implemented in terms of image processing speed and picture quality. Concurrent use of OIS and DIS correction of hand-shakes ensures clear picture quality in any shooting condition.

The face detection function is the latest technology of automatically detecting the face in the frame. When the function is activated, the focus and brightness are automatically set by the face detection function, so that the user does not have to manually focus. Up to 9 faces detected. Simple shooting of people as the camera automatically detects the face.

A brand new Smart Touch interface intended for intuitive and quick menu access is supported by employing special UI for the NV series.
