Advantages: Fantastic image quality, smaller than a normal SLR
Disadvantages: Bigger than a compact digital, but that's why you bought it in the first place presumably?
I bought this camera about a year ago, as I wanted something with better image quality than a compact digital, but not quite as complicated as a big SLR - this was the perfect compromise.
I love it! Yes, it's a little bulky and I didn't take it on my most recent holiday (Disneyland Florida), mostly due to the fact that I didn't want to carry it around the parks all day and have to keep checking it into lockers when I went on rides. However, the image quality is better than any compact digital I've ever had, you can instantly tell the difference between a photograph taken on this camera and on my Canon 220 Ixus. Don't get me wrong, I love my Ixus and take it everywhere with me, because it's so compact and handy, but the Samsung NX10 gets used for important or arty photos. For example, I'm sure that when my baby's born in June it will be used for the vast majority of our baby photos.
It's easy to use, has and automatic mode and will select all the best settings for you, or it also has all the usual SLR settings.
It's a "mirrorless digital SLR" camera, which means that the viewfinder is a digital image of the back display screen, rather than a mirrored image of what you see infront of you. This annoys some people, but personally, I don't have a problem with it.
I did say that it's bulky, but that was in comparison with a compact digital, which is what I'm used to. When you compare it to a regular "mirrored" SLR it's tiny and very portable. It's easy to hold in one hand (for taking pictures of yourself - who doesn't?!) and relatively lightweight. I would recommend getting a good case for it, though at the moment if I go out with it, I'll just pop it in my handbag.
So, to sum up, if you're thinking of getting an SLR, but aren't too clued up on all the advantages or how one works, but just want something a bit more high spec than your current digital camera, I would definitely recommend this. There is an NX11 out too, though the advantages of this over the NX10 aren't that great. All I can remember is that it has a fancy panoramic mode, but I believe you can update your NX10 with the NX11 software and get that anyway, so it's not really worth the extra money.
Summary: Great camera, wouldn't change it - no regrets
