Advantages: Nice and simple to use

Disadvantages: none

When we discovered that our digital camera had given up the ghost we went on the hunt for a new one. We wanted one that would be simple to use but took very good quality pictures as we had a new baby & wanted to have good pictures to look back on.

We came across the Samsung S1070 in Tescos and liked the look of it but before we bought it we did a little research on the net to see if it was any good, most of the sites we looked at rated it 8 or more out of 10 so we decided to go back and purchase it.

When we took it out of the box we where very pleased with the style of the camera, its a nice black case with a silver lens one the front and on the back is the 2.7" screen to look through when taking pictures & the menu buttons etc which are all very straight forward to use.

The Samsung S1070 is a 10.2 mega pixel camera which means the photo quality is amazing and it has face detection (The idea is that it helps to produce a more sharply focused face in the photo).

You have various options for what settings you want to use for the photo (there is a circular button on the top which you turn to select the mode you want) Auto - Quick easy picture taking, camera does all the work, Movie clip - Will record a video, Manual - You can set the camera up how you like & the list goes on. We just leave the camera on Auto, we know then that we will get the best picture with little fuss.

This camera also comes with two leads, one to connect it to your computer (you also get the software for this) or straight to your printer and one to connect it to you TV. When you connect the camera to your computer it automatically loads the software you need & you just select all the pics you want & save them to your selected folder. I don't have a printer to connect it to so I cant tell you how easy this is.

The camera has a nice quick start manual with it which tells you how to get started in 10 pages rather than the pages & pages of useless info you usually get with these types of items.

Overall this camera is nice, light and compact so you can stick it in your handbag and off you go, the picture quality is amazing and its very very simple to use, basically its a great little camera on a budget (prices range from £69 - £99).
