Advantages: Small, good quality photo's, easy to use
Disadvantages: Can lose photo's when flicking back to look at
I thought that being that I've had this camera about two years and have really only just started using it on a regular basis in the last few months, I'd try and write a review on what it's like.
Well to start with I found it hard to choose what colour as they done this in blue, black and silver, I went for the silver as my daughter already had the blue one and the silver looked nicer than the black. It's quite a nice size camera as it fits into the hand easily ( W9cm x L6cm x D2cm) and has a very sleek look to it.
Coming with 7.2 megapixels I knew this was plenty for me at the time ( I know that the more megapixels the better, but thats about all!!). It is extremely easy to use, so that was a plus factor as well. Now on the front of the camera there is of course the lens which has a 3 x optical zoom of 6.3 - 18.9mm, which slowly comes out when you press the small button on the top ( sorry to all the camera buffs out there, but I'm not very good at explaining in technical terms!).
Now talking of the top this consists of the said button, then there is a dial which has several markings on it. There are eight in total each doing a different thing ;
1. Programme - Directly sets various features for shooting
2. Manuel - Same as above but including aperture and shutter speed
3. Photo Help Guide - This mode minimizes camera shake, helps when image is out of focus, adjusts brightness and low light conditions.
4. Portrait - This is for photographing just people
5. Scene - Specific mode for certain scenes with 10 scene modes
6. Movie - This is for making your own little videos
7. Auto - This just does it all for you at a flick
Now I usually just use the auto switch ( and sometimes the movie one by mistake!), but to be honest while I have been writing this review I had forgotten how many different settings this has. I will have to try and play around with this a bit more and stop being lazy.
I find that the 2.4" LCD Screen to be amply big for me to view what I am taking a picture of, there is another round button on the back and this has 4 functions, that you press up or down, left or right. Press menu once and a display comes up in what launguage, date and time ect... press right and the settings come up, press left and the sounds control comes up, press up and basic information apperars and press down ( and I think !) this changes the settings that you want.
This camera does take 2 AA batteries and I do find that it is better to use a make like Duracell, as it does use them reasonably quickly, but I belive that this camera isn't as bad as some others about. Now what I don't like about this camera and there are 2 things, firstly is that the dial on the top can very easily get turned round from the setting that you are using. As I said before I usually just use the auto setting and sometimes when you suddenly see a picture that you want to take quickly and rush to get it out of the case and snap it, I find that when I later look at it I've done a recording instead!!. I cannot check it on the spot as this is the other fault that I have found since I have been using it lately and that is that if I go to look at what I have just taken a photo of it can some times corrupt. By this I mean that it comes up "File Error" and I lose that picture, it even happens when I'm back home and go through the pics one will suddenly disapper. So now I put them straight onto the laptop, but it still seems to lose the odd one or two even with that.
So although this is a very handy little camera and has taken some wonderful pictures for me recently of my grandson, I'm still a bit worried when taking pictures incase I lose a good one. I never noticed this happening when I used it on a very odd occasion. I did have to get a Micro SD card when I bought the camera and I am now wondering if this has something to do with it, I will have to look into this and update this review if it is.
This camera sells for around the £50.00 mark or less.
So I would say that this is a great little camera, apart from those two things so I will give it 3 dooyoo stars!
Summary: I would say that this would make an ideal camera for child wanting to take photos!

I managed to lose some pictures from my camera once because I opened the side door where the SD card was housed whilst the camera was switched on. Apparently that's a no-no. Superb review.
