Advantages: Picture Quality, SD Card, Price
Disadvantages: Video Quality, Batteries
I got this camera about four years ago as a gift on my birthday. I was only 10 and it was my first camera and I wasn't expecting the quality I found. My camera came in silver, however it comes with the option of black or pink casing. The case was durable and has kept the camera itself safe to this day
The picture quality as well also surprised me, I had seen adverts for phones with more megapixels than my camera had, however after seeing the results I quickly decided that there would be no point. The Samsung takes photos of more than enough quality to be clearly viewed on a PC or even on a projector.
The camera was also very easy to use, perfect for a night out. The automatic features do all the work for you, just decide if you want a landscape or portrait photo, hold down the focus button and the camera decides whether to use the flash or not. Bringing me neatly onto my next point
So far I had found the camera to be near impeccable however the glare produced by the flash I found to be a problem at concerts. However an easy way to solve this, turn it off, flash isn't needed at concerts and the Samsung lets you customize the auto feature with little tweaks like that to meet your personal requirements
Another drawback are the batteries. Unlike most modern cameras the Samsung s760 doesn't come with a
charger and so you need to provide two aa batteries. But these will last for about a week with infrequent use.
Filming video however is a real issue with very poor quality video produced, however it isnt a video camera and this was to be expected
The memory is also acceptable, the 11mb of internal memory is pretty rubbish but the sd can support up to 8GB, however in saving files I have had lots of issues with file errors, making my photos unviewable.
The price really is the clincher though, when I got the camera it cost around £40 but go on ebay and you can get them for about £10
Overall a great first camera and definitely something that I would recommend to a friend
Summary: A fantastic camera for a fantastic price, let down be read/write errors.
