Advantages: Small and compact

Disadvantages: A bit too complicated for me at times.

My old camera has served me well for years, but recently it has become a bit tatty and I decided that it needed to be updated. I like Samsung products so that was the make that I looked for. I also wanted a fairly small one as some of my handbags are quite small and I did not want to have to use big ones all the time. I would have liked a coloured one but when I considered that the silver one was on offer for £79.99 when the others were £149.99 I decided that I liked silver after all.

It is quite light at 122g and certainly falls into the sleek and stylish category. Focusing is really easy as there is a good size screen - 2.7" - so you I don't end up taking the person next to the person I wanted to photograph. Considering the size of the screen the camera itself is really compact and is 0.7" wide.

It has a 5X optical zoom meaning that even the photographs that I have to take from a distance are still clear and easy to make out. According to the paperwork the pictures are good enough to turn into poster sized photographs but I have not put that to the test yet, although I do think that the pictures I have printed for others are sharper than they were with the old camera.

The great thing for me is that all of the lighting and brightness is worked out by the camera and I don't have to decide if I need a flash or not. I don't take many pictures at night but whenever they are taken they are just the right brightness. I have less blurry pictures when I take moving things and this must be thanks to the camera.

I thought the next part was a joke as it claims that it can make people look better by making their skin look good and does not show blinking - I have heard of cameras that have been able to repair red eye before but never blinking.

There is also a way that you can organise the photographs you choose to keep, but there is no way that I have been able to do this. You can also keep pictures in a recycle bin just the same way that you can with a computer and then if you really do need them they can be brought back into the saved ones. Again this is not a thing I have done but they say it is easy to do.

The video I have taken has only been my nephew messing around in the house so I can't really say how effective it would be if you were videoing things you wanted to keep. You can stop and start the same video and keep it as the one clip which is much better than having to save each episode as a separate video.
The camera comes with a wrist strap, lithium battery, instructions CD and manual, USB cable, A/V cable and AC adapter. You can charge the camera directly into the wall or connect it to the computer. This is much better than my other one that had to have the battery removed and charged in a separate charger.

As you can probably tell this is a better camera than I need, but at the price I am happy with it and one day I might manage to use all of its functions.

Summary: I am sure I will only like this more the more I get to use it.
