It took a long time until I purchased this camera, after my previous camera broke, but this is definately worth the wait.

The main feature that I purchased this camera for was its 15x Optical zoom. This zoom is amazing and where I thought the photo quality would worsen the closer I zoomed, I was wrong.

This camera also boasts a ultra-wide angle lense, Face recognition and dual stabilisation, all of which my previous camera didn't, which I don't understand how I managed without this.

Another factor why I chose this camera is the ability to capture screenshots from video (HD 720p) and also crop images on the camera itself, though as you would expect , this does reduce the overall image size when uploaded to a PC/Mac as it is not scaled.

This camera can be controlled with the manual controls, with settings such as Apperture Priority,Shutter Priority,Auto and also a program setting, in which settings such as Iso can be adjusted.


The body of this camera is not as compact as the average point and shoot camera. It measures 106.6 x 60.5 x 28mm with a 3.0 inch LCD screen. It weighs 210g whereas a Nikon Coolpix Camera is approximately 120g.

This camera also features a smart filter, lens effect, delivering an unique edge to your still shots and videos.My favourite feautre being the Miniature filter which gives your subjects a miniaturized look.

The only downside I have with this camera is photographing at night in in low lighting. I have to experiment with different flash settings to ensure there is no shadowing or unusual highlighting.If you do not plan on capturing photos mostly in low or dark lighting then this camera will not let you down.
