Battery usage is on par with other digital slr's, fairly heavy, just don't use plain AA batteries - they don't last at all! You're much better off getting some re-chargeable ones. Another good reason to try the SD10 is that you can get it for stupid money if you shop around, half the price of some other makes of camera! And the Sigma range of lenses is one of the best you can get, with a great range to choose from....more |

I believe the Sigma SD10 is one of the most under rated digital slr's in the market. I've had my one for around 10 months, and can happily say that i love using it. Image quality is very good to excellent on the whole. The Foveon sensor used by Sigma gives a lovely creamy tonality, although i have my doubts that it is the 10 megapixels claimed, it's probably nearer 7 or 8 megapixels in truth, but that doesn't detract from the image quality at all. I find the size of the camera perfect for me, and all the controls are in a logical position, and very easy to understand and use, although anyone with small hands may find the cameras bulk a little off putting.
