I purchased a 1GB Sony pro duo memory card, a screen protector, and a carry case. Don't forget to factor in these costs when you are making your camera choice as the little extras can really add up. Sony do put all of the wires that you will need into the box, so you don't need to worry about finding camera leads etc to down load your pictures. This camera is just the right size and weight to be able to hold the camera stable to get some fantastic shots, to top it off, the list of features is massive! I love the touch screen on the back and the fact that you just scroll through menus without having to use lots of fiddly buttons. I would recommend that you invest in a screen protector before you start playing with the camera to avoid scratching your new camera. There is an amazing range of pre-programmed settings for events such as fireworks, beaches, or twilights etc which are brilliant for a novice like me!
