FEATURES

Well to be honest I’m not the biggest fan of the T series industrial design, however it is a satisfactory model and I would ultimately recommend it to general photographers. The model I bought was the silver model which was basically brushed metal, measuring 3.5 x 2.25 x 87 (WHD in inches) and weighing 6 ounces (170.09 grams) with the battery and the memory stick.
At the front of the model, there is a subtle branding which isn’t too eye catching or overwhelming and generally fits with the overall style of the camera. The colours available are, silver, red and black. If you slide the front panel of the camera down you will notice that the camera will power up and you will see a flash, the lens and mic and AF Illuminator sensor. Note that the Zeiss Vario-Tessar glass is a 5x non-protruding optical zoom.
The DSC-T100 is an average size for a modern camera and can easily fit into your pocket, however it is easily scratched especially the 3-inch LCD screen at the back. The LCD screen itself takes almost all of the space on the camera making viewing easy and effective.
At the top of the camera there is a shutter button which has a power playback key and it also has a battery/memory card compartment and an available tripod mount attachment.
Sony announces that the camera is capable of HD which can be outputted to your HD television, however you would need to purchase an additional accessory with the appropriate HD connectors. You can buy this accessory for £59 at http://shop.sonystyle-europe.com/ which enables you to use video out and a remote whilst also charging your battery. This for m however seems a rip off and I would waste my time and money buying this accessory for the price.

WHATS INCLUDED

The kit that comes with the camera usually includes a strap, rechargeable battery and or charger, a hydra-cable, a printed Manuel and a CD ROM to accompany. The basic software for the camera is also included in this CD ROM. Normally no memory stick or duo card is included but you can but a 1GB FOR AROUND £15 when you shop around.

CONCLUTION

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 is perfect for the general photographer who’s interests include basic snap shots, however I would not recommend this camera to people who intend to use it for semi-professional or professional shots since its features and specs are somewhat limited and the overall quality of the shots are less than professional. Its supposed HD enabled capacity is a major plus to this camera and maybe its only real positive with substance.
